Read our heartbreaking new blog about TFMR by our brave reporter Emma Kemsley.

“I’m sorry, there’s nothing we can do to help your baby.” Those were the words I heard after a long ultrasound, peak pandemic, before being placed in a white room, alone, in an eerily quiet hospital. Losing a baby is hard in any circumstance, but when faced with the decision of termination for medical reasons (TFMR), suddenly it becomes an uncomprehensive emotional turmoil.

This is the decision I had to make after six cycles of IVF. It’s a heartbreaking choice for any expectant parent, but the weight of IVF made it even harder. I chose to end our baby’s life knowing I’d never be pregnant again. For me, there would never be another chance of conceiving. However, I put our child’s health and wellbeing before mine, and I’ve never regretted my decision.

We don’t often show images of babies but are making an exception this week because we want to celebrate with the amazing Jessica Peacock @blooming_fertility - our #ivfwarrior who has finally had her dream baby, a boy named ‘Oliver Ian Peacock’ born at 36 weeks.

How gorgeous is he!! Look at that beautiful head of brown hair.
Jessica went through a C section and is looking amazingly well.
Together with her brave and supportive husband Ian the couple have struggled through nine rounds of #ivf to get to this stage.
They worked with a couple of different clinics who failed them because they didn’t understand how to handle recurrent miscarriages.
We recommended she work with the incredible @crpclinic and luckily her existing clinic finally mentioned them as an option as well, so she went for a consultation.
Thank goodness she did!!
After only one attempt at IVF she maintained a healthy pregnancy and Oliver is the result.
We couldn’t be more thrilled for her.

Congratulations to this wonderful couple and to everyone involved.

We have interviewed the fabulous Professor Hassan Shehata, the man behind this miracle, and we will be posting his interview soon. Look out for it on our website.

If you are suffering from repeated miscarriages, stop working with an IVF clinic that’s failing you. If you’ve had more than five rounds of IVF and the protocol isn’t changing then look for someone else.
There are a lot of unscrupulous clinics who will keep taking your money. Go to someone who knows what they are doing.

Best of luck to everyone on a fertility journey. We ❤️ you!

HEALTHY FOOD AND SAFE NON TOXIC UTENSILS ARE IMPORTANT WHEN TRYING TO CONCEIVE. WE RECOMMEND YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH

Air fryers came under the spotlight recently after this misleading video was posted on Tik Tok.
It’s true that it’s worth checking yours out to make sure it doesn’t contain PFAS in its non stick coating. Luckily most reputable manufacturers have dropped this type of ceramic coating so you should be safe during pregnancy.
The woman in this video claimed that her air fryer emitted ‘antimony’, but failed to understand that anything present in the cord of an air fryer couldn’t have contaminated her food.

A groundbreaking drug could slow the aging process & extend women’s fertility

Researchers in the US are investigating the use of a drug currently used in cancer treatment and for preventing organ rejection in kidney transplant recipients. It’s believed ‘rapamycin’ might delay menopause and extend fertility by around five years.
Early results from the study at Columbia University which will eventually include more than 1,000 women, are promising. The team leading the investigation are, Yousin Suh and Zev Williams.
