Gemma Collins has announced she is contemplating using a surrogate if she cannot conceive naturally.
The “Only Way Is Essex” star, who has been open about her fertility challenges, shared on her “Everything I Know About Me” podcast that she is considering surrogacy to achieve her dream of having children.
“I’m not going to stress about it. I don’t want the pressure,” the 43-year-old said. “I know Tana Ramsay, Gordon Ramsey’s wife had a child at 49. It was lovely to find out. But if it doesn’t work I’ll get a surrogate. The Kardashians did it. Paris Hilton did it. Gemma Collins can do it.” (Paris Hilton used a surrogate to welcome her son Phoenix and daughter London last year.)
Engaged to Rami Hawash, Gemma confessed she would “love” a baby but it’s just “not happening,” citing low AMH Hormone levels and a limited number of available eggs. While she would like a “little girl” in the future, she enjoys being a stepmum to Rami’s five-year-old son Tristan.
Another of the problems Gemma struggles with is polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which can cause fertility issues thanks to a hormone imbalance interfering with the growth and release of eggs from the ovaries during ovulation.
Gemma has been candid about her fertility struggles over the years, revealing that she has experienced three miscarriages, most recently in 2020.
