Cameron and husband Benji Madden just welcomed their second child, a boy called Cardinal.
The pair made the big announcement on social media with Benjamin posting some beautiful original artwork to celebrate.
The couple are already parents to daughter Raddix, 4, also born through surrogacy.
“We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden❤️🙏,” Cameron captioned her joint post with Benji on instagram.
“He is awesome and we are all so happy he is here!” The couple pointed out that they won’t be sharing photos of Cardinal for “safety and privacy,” but she added that the baby is “really cute.”
The celebrity has moved out of the spotlight in recent years preferring to work on being a mum and producing and promoting her line of wine in California called @avaline 🍷
After Raddix’s birth, a source close to Cameron shared that the couple tried for years to conceive before finally turning to surrogacy. “They went through so much to get to this point,” the insider told Us Weekly. “Cameron feels like this baby is truly a miracle.”
A previous source told the publication that Cameron and Benji also went through in vitro fertilization (IVF), acupuncture, and supplements to try to have a baby.
In 2020, Cameron opened up about her role as a mother, calling it “the best, best, best part of my life.”
“I love being a mother,” she told Entertainment Tonight in 2020. “I’m so grateful and so happy and it’s the best thing ever and I’m so lucky to do it with Benj.”
