About Us

Jules Burke and her son Lorcan on a swing

Director / CEO

Broadcaster and journalist Jules Burke has worked for the likes of the BBC, Sky TV and The Sunday Express.

In 2020, she was one of the team who started IGOOBA.COM, with a vision to create a one stop shop for everything to do with health & fitness, trying for a baby and being pregnant.

Having been on a seven-year fertility journey herself, she got frustrated with the lack of companies who were providing independent and honest advice which wasn’t influenced by paid advertising.

The idea was to create a community and entertaining website which was similar in quality to her previous employer the BBC, highlighting the best of everything in the health sector and adding celebrity news and travel tips on everything from spas to wellness retreats and the best holidays worldwide.

Between 2021 and 2023, the community grew beyond her imagination reaching over a million people per month, including more than 200,000 people trying to conceive.

BST team

“Listening to our community we realised there was a need for someone to create a Michelin inspired list of premier IVF clinics so people could find the good guys” says Jules.

Since then the ‘BST approved list’ on the homepage of our website has expanded worldwide to cover six countries, highlighting the genuine global centres of excellence.

Igooba also produces its own tv style reporting on issues close to our hearts because we believe in quality in everything, with a team of travel reporters based in Barcelona and New York. The aim is simple: to help readers get fitter, feel fabulous, unwind and live their best lives.

If you have something you would like us to report on, or a product you think will be useful for other people, please get in touch:

It’s great to see the above recommendation and happy ending, but sadly it’s rare to hear of IVF Clinics with over 80 percent success rates like this one.
We first heard about the @crpclinic in the UK, after interviewing Louise Warneford who suffered an astonishing 18 miscarriages before finally having success with Professor Shehata.
It took only one attempt with his protocol for her to have her beautiful baby boy.
If you want to find out more she’s written a useful book called ‘Baby Dreams’ which you can buy on Amazon.

So why did Lily Collins have a baby through surrogacy?

Although there’s been no official response as to why the 35 year old star of the hit Netflix series ‘Emily In Paris’, has used a surrogate to have a baby, a clue comes in her 2017 memoir ‘Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me’,

Lily – the daughter of musician Phil Collins – candidly described how an eating disorder had a devastating effect on her reproductive system. She revealed she used to eat ‘every type of junk food possible’ and then force herself to vomit. She said it stopped her menstrual cycle adding: ‘I was terrified I had ruined my chances of having kids.’

Life happens when you choose to quit IVF says our reporter Emma Kemsley with a smile.

She’s feeling rejuvenated after moving to the Costa Brava, and spending her first Christmas in her new home.

In her latest blog she wonders if she would be feeling so positive had her #ivf worked?

No is her answer because she says she’d likely be in the UK and knackered from a busy back to school routine.

She and her husband James and cute dog Fletcher, made the brave decision to quit IVF in April 2022. In her words they “got off the fertility merry-go-round and regained their freedom, sanity and finances”.

In 2023, after researching several European cities, they found their dream renovation project and relocated to Spain.

They haven’t looked back since and are happy to be childless by choice.

Read more about her decision to take her life back in her latest blog on our home page:

Read our heartbreaking new blog about TFMR by our brave reporter Emma Kemsley.

“I’m sorry, there’s nothing we can do to help your baby.” Those were the words I heard after a long ultrasound, peak pandemic, before being placed in a white room, alone, in an eerily quiet hospital. Losing a baby is hard in any circumstance, but when faced with the decision of termination for medical reasons (TFMR), suddenly it becomes an uncomprehensive emotional turmoil.

This is the decision I had to make after six cycles of IVF. It’s a heartbreaking choice for any expectant parent, but the weight of IVF made it even harder. I chose to end our baby’s life knowing I’d never be pregnant again. For me, there would never be another chance of conceiving. However, I put our child’s health and wellbeing before mine, and I’ve never regretted my decision.

We don’t often show images of babies but are making an exception this week because we want to celebrate with the amazing Jessica Peacock @blooming_fertility - our #ivfwarrior who has finally had her dream baby, a boy named ‘Oliver Ian Peacock’ born at 36 weeks.

How gorgeous is he!! Look at that beautiful head of brown hair.
Jessica went through a C section and is looking amazingly well.
Together with her brave and supportive husband Ian the couple have struggled through nine rounds of #ivf to get to this stage.
They worked with a couple of different clinics who failed them because they didn’t understand how to handle recurrent miscarriages.
We recommended she work with the incredible @crpclinic and luckily her existing clinic finally mentioned them as an option as well, so she went for a consultation.
Thank goodness she did!!
After only one attempt at IVF she maintained a healthy pregnancy and Oliver is the result.
We couldn’t be more thrilled for her.

Congratulations to this wonderful couple and to everyone involved.

We have interviewed the fabulous Professor Hassan Shehata, the man behind this miracle, and we will be posting his interview soon. Look out for it on our website.

If you are suffering from repeated miscarriages, stop working with an IVF clinic that’s failing you. If you’ve had more than five rounds of IVF and the protocol isn’t changing then look for someone else.
There are a lot of unscrupulous clinics who will keep taking your money. Go to someone who knows what they are doing.

Best of luck to everyone on a fertility journey. We ❤️ you!
