She was only in her 20’s but the Love Island star, Amy Hart, has revealed she’s frozen her eggs. She underwent the fertility treatment because of worries about a family history of early menopause.
Blood tests confirmed that she was at risk of early menopause, prompting her to invest £15,000 in multiple rounds of egg freezing.
Luckily shortly after her first egg collection procedure, she met Sam Rason, who is now her fiancé and the father of her son Stanley, conceived naturally.
While Amy unexpectedly became pregnant, she continued with more rounds of egg collection and freezing, ensuring she has a backup plan in place.
She now has frozen eggs stored at a London clinic
Amy feels safer knowing she has eggs on ice at a leading London clinic ready to help if she wants more children.. But doctors warn that these don’t always work and shouldn’t be relied upon.. Celebrities like Kourtney Kardashian have frozen them but found they didnt work when called upon. Medical advice is that the earlier you freeze your eggs the more likely they are to work.
Although Amy initially planned on being a solo mother at the age of 35, meeting Sam changed her plans. Now, at 31, she is a proud mother to her almost one-year-old son.
Amy’s goal is to have her future children naturally, but she is open to using IVF with fresh eggs followed by the frozen ones if needed.
If she doesn’t end up using the frozen eggs, she is considering donating them. Amy adores being a mother to Stanley and is grateful for how easy-going he is. She looks forward to expanding her family.
As a working mother, Amy finds it challenging to switch off from work. To create more balance, she has implemented “mumdays” where she dedicates a day solely to her son, without any work-related activities. This routine has brought more calmness into her life. Amy is also focused on adopting a healthier lifestyle, including eating well, exercising, and prioritizing her mental health. She emphasizes the importance of taking care of herself for the sake of her son.
Amy Hart is now an ambassador for Femme Health, an online platform that offers a range of products and resources related to fertility, conception, sex, and menopause.
Her journey and experiences are an inspiration and guidance for women who may be navigating similar fertility concerns and considering preserving their fertility for a future family.
